How did the name TOBLERONE come about? The name TOBLERONE was the result of combining the firm name, "Tobler," with "Torrone," an Italian nougat specialty. What's most special about TOBLERONE? Among the greatest of TOBLERONE's unique qualities are the wonderful taste sensation provided by its special recipe (a one-of-a-kind mixture of milk chocolate with honey and almond nougat), and its unusual shape and packaging. Is it true that TOBLERONE's characteristic triangular shape is protected by law? Yes. Since 1994, not just TOBLERONE's name and packaging are protected by law, but so is its shape, its true symbol. What about TOBLERONE imitators? Like every successful product, TOBLERONE has many imitators throughout the world. It is first and foremost the packaging (coloring, name and logo) which is copied. Naturally, TOBLERONE actively prosecutes these imitations, which usually don't come up to TOBLERONE's standard of quality, and so could damage the brand image.

2chocolate was discolored  Oct 29, 2008
I had purchased this chocolate for a corporate function. I gave it to the caterers to create a presentation leaving most of it in one piece for the guests to cut a chunk off. They brought it back to me to show that of the two I had purchased, only a quarter of it was presentable as the chocolate had gone bad (turned that light/chalky look/texture). We were able to salvate the good part for presentation but had to cut off the bad parts and chop the rest.
